On October 29, the threat was mainly raised for Texas and Louisiana. Only two tornadoes touched down on October 29. The first tornado was an EF0 that touched down near D'Hanis, Texas, damaging buildings and snapping trees in the area. The second tornado hit a barn in the small community of Los Coyotes, Texas in Willacy County. The storms continued overnight to produce an extravagant tornado outbreak. Overnight October 29, storms began to settle once again. October 30 was the most ferocious day, impacting suburbs of large cities with EF2 tornadoes. At least 1 foot of rain fell into the Austin, Texas area, closing Interstate 35. In San Marcos, Texas, both flooding and storm damage occurred. The day ended with a death toll of 5. Tornado activity calmed down in the early morning of Halloween. The threat was lowered for Texas, but raised higher for Louisiana and Mississippi. The first tornado was an EF1 that touched down not far from Sugartown, Louisiana. Another tornado unrated but confirmed touched down near Tickfaw, Louisiana. The tornado outbreak ended with an EF0 hitting Hattiesburg, Mississippi, which was previously hit by an EF4 tornado in 2013. Amid flooding and tornadoes, wind was big in the outbreak after the tornadoes ended. A roof was blown off a home in Mt.
